Abstract

This article attempts to answer the question ‘What could be the role for trade in achieving the goals laid down in the Paris Climate Agreement?’ This article explores the interactions between the trade and climate change regimes, their specific interactions, and innovative ways forward in the context of global governance. Sections 1 and 2 of this report first assess the numerous linkages between trade and climate change including at the policy level. Chapter 3 then systematically assesses the main policy options for making trade more supportive of climate action.
