Abstract

AbstractEquilibrium phase diagrams of narrow molecular weight distribution samples of polystyrene and polyisoprene in the presence of toluene at 45°C and 1 atm pressure were established by means of gel permeation chromatography. The polymer‐polymer interaction parameter was evaluated on the basis of the Flory‐Huggins approach. The influence of polymer molecular weight and polymer‐solvent interaction parameters on (i) the shape and location of the binodal curve, (ii) the location of the critical point, and (iii) the polymer‐polymer interaction parameter was investigated.
