Abstract

The mechanism and kinetics of graphite dissolution in melts based on sodium hydroxide were studied. The effect of various salt additives on the intensity of the occurring reactions is considered. A method recommended for removal of graphite in the form of remainders of molds and mold cores from titanium casts is described.
