Abstract

A mathematical model is presented for the acceleration and heating of spherical fine particles in a high temperature supersonic gas stream generator. The effect of the thermodynamic parameters of the gas stream on fine particle velocity and temperature is demonstrated. The main properties of nichrome and tungsten carbide coatings prepared by a ‘Struya’ device are described.
