Abstract

The article deals with the evolution of the distribution of rents in the process of sócio-economic development of Brazil and it’s impact on the process of formation and interaction of national elites. Special attention is paid to “great transition” of year 1930, when traditional sources of rents were exhausted and new sources of rents were created in the process of forced industrialization. Separately discussed are prerequisites for transition to open access order, including some traditional institutions.
