Abstract

The interaction of 4,6-di-tert-butyl-1,2,3-benzodithiazolyl (Herz radical) 1 with O2 in a hydrocarbon solution leads to substituted N,N’-disulfinyl-2,2’-diaminodiphenyl disulfide 2, the radical decay kinetics corresponds to a self-termination reaction with a rate constant, which is a linear function of the concentration of dissolved O2.
