Abstract

A measurement of the infrared collision-induced absorption spectrum of collisional pairs of Ar and Xe atoms is reported. An improved empirical collision-induced dipole model is obtained, which, if combined with quantum line-shape computations, permits an accurate reproduction of the measured spectrum.
