Abstract

Nanocrystalline Sm0.5Y0.5Co5 alloys were prepared by mechanical milling, and their magnetic properties were investigated using a physical property measurement system (PPMS) to observe the presence of magnetic interactions and determine the dipolar interaction field. Isothermal remanent magnetization curves (mr) and the normalized direct current demagnetization (md) were measured. The dipolar interaction field the for nanocrystalline Sm0.5Y0.5Co5 alloys was determined, and was representative of the magnetic interactions.
