Abstract
Inoculation with Rhizobium sp. increased the numbers, dry weight and size of nodules, also the dry weight of plants and the percentage of nitrogen per plant. Organic manuring gave similar results. Nitrogen fertilization increased the numbers, dry weight, size of nodules and dry weight and the percentage of nitrogen of plants, except 150 kg ammonium sulfate per feddan. Soil infestation with each of Rhizoctonia solani or Sclerotium rolfsii or both of them decreased the percentage of total nitrogen of the plants and on the other hand reduced the numbers, fresh and dry weights of nodules and fresh and dry weights of roots and shoots of the plants. Inoculation with Rhizobium sp. in soil infested with the aforementioned fungi increased the numbers, fresh and dry weights of nodules and also increased the fresh and dry weights of plants and the percentage of total nitrogen of plants.
