Abstract
Inhibition of positronium formation by C 6F 14 in n-C 6H 14 and C 8H 18 has been investigated by positromum lifetime measurements. The solute is a weak Ps inhibitor, causing a minimum in the o-Ps yield at low concentrations. Increasing solute concentration enhances the yield and gives a second minimum at high concentrations. The results are discussed in terms of the “spur model”.
