Abstract

An interaction between correlated and uncorrelated time-interval distributions in start-stop time-to-amplitude converters was observed. Investigation of the effect under controlled conditions showed the interaction to be dependent on the efficiency of the stop event detector. A rapidly convergent iteration method was developed to remove the uncorrelated events from the time-interval distribution. The method was tested on both experimentally and theoretically generated data.
