Abstract
In this paper a practical method of interaction analysis in multivariable discrete time control system design based on relative transient response functions and interaction matrices is developed. To determine the relative transient response function an inverse system serves as an "ideal" controller. The method helps effectively to pair the input and output variables and determine whether a multivariable system is decomposable to (nearly) independent subsystems. State equations of corresponding subsystems are obtained using canonical forms.
