Abstract

Summary The effect of 1-aminocyclopropane-1-carboxylic acid (ACC), the immediate precursor of ethylene, on adventitious bud regeneration from in vitro leaf explants of LonicerapA-456,d6 Wils. cv. ‘Maigrun’ was investigated. A strong interaction between 2,3,5-triiodobenzoic acid (TIBA) and ACC was found. In the presence of TIBA, incorporation of ACC to the culture medium significantly enhanced caulogenesis. Addition of 65 µM silver nitrate affected ACC-induced caulogenesis. The results are discussed with regard to the role of inhibition of polar auxin transport and ethylene.
