Abstract

We analyze the SO(8) model of Ginocchio in the case of an odd number of nucleons and study its properties under group contraction. We obtain an interacting boson-fermion model with parameters arising from the microscopic SO(8) Hamiltonian. Some considerations are made about nuclear supersymmetry.
