Abstract
The article reports on a study by Thomas E. Becker of Washington State University and Scott L. Martin of London House concerning employees who make themselves look bad at work. The survey of business students found that some employees lower their performance, skip work, make more errors, and have a bad attitude when they feel that management has been inconsiderate in assigning overtime or refusing requests for time off or fewer work hours. The researchers suggest that negative impression management with only one employee creating a bad impression can result in lower morale for a team or department.
