Abstract

Abstract This report describes a case of talon cusp treated by an intentional partial pulpotomy, which made it possible to recontour the tooth crown into the desired shape. The patient was an 11-year-old boy with a large talon cusp on the lingual surface of the right maxillary lateral incisor. He was referred to our clinic for treatment of abnormality cusp because it was expected to impede orthodontic treatment. The talon cusp was amputated using an intentional partial pulpotomy. The procedure resulted in successful recontouring of the tooth crown into the desired morphology and the dental pulp exhibited a vital reaction at three years after the operation.
