Abstract

Projectile energy dependence of intensity ratios Lα/Ll of Sm and Ho has been measured for proton impact over the bombarding energy range 0.75–4.75 MeV, and for 3He-ion impact over the bombarding energy range 1.5–9.3 MeV. It is found that the ratios increase along with the projectile energy for both the proton and 3He-ion bombardments, and become larger than that predicted by a theory at the high energy side. By comparing the results for proton impact with those for 3He-ion impact, it is suggested that this energy dependence is not due to the multiple ionization effect caused directly by the projectiles.
