Abstract

One of the key research topics of the world’s mining industry is how to ensure safe and reliable work of the powered supporot with large mining height more than 6m. During the process of design and development, the advanced CAD/CAE technique can be used to identify potential problems and increase the reliability of the powered support. In this paper, the whole 3D model of powered support with large mining height was established, and the finite element method was used to analyze and calculate the stress according to the new inspection standard of MT312-2000. It is found that there is too large stress and obvious stress concentration in the back-line of powered support. Through the structural improvement of back-line, the maximum stress value of the back-line was greatly reduced, the stress concentration was greatly improved, and the intensity optimization was achieved. Improvemed back-line demonstrates a good effect in practical use.
