Abstract

The transmission of Ge at 10.6μ decreases for light intensities exceeding approximately 5 × 10 7 W/cm 2. The spectral analysis of the reflected light strongly suggests that the occurrence of stimulated Brillouin scattering limits the transmitted light flux.
