Abstract
A new control strategy which integrates indoor air quality (IAQ) control into heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) system is described. Based on the field tests for IAQ and HVAC operations, the control models are identified and simulated. By using an intelligence engineering approach, a conflict reasoning system for the resolution of conflict between IAQ and energy conservation is constructed and integrated into HVAC real time control system. This new control strategy simultaneously reduces energy consumption and meets indoor air quality requirements.
