Abstract

Challenge of rapid changes in manufacturing shop-floors raises high demands in today companies for a level of intelligence and responsiveness in planning and controlling their shop operations to be competitive. For meeting these demands in IMSs, an intelligent supervisory control system of ability for reactive revision/repair of shop floor schedules to keep them in line with live status of processes, and thus improve the manufacturing systems’ performance is proposed in the paper.
