Abstract

This paper presents a concept of intelligent supervision and global monitoring integrated into a unique laboratory system for simulation of heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC) processes. The laboratory HVAC system itself constitutes a basis for development and experimental verification of not only the proposed algorithms for signal analysis, but also for identification and control. Specifically, we present functions for detection of unexpected or undesired signal behavior. Functionality of the proposed intelligent supervision concept integrated into the laboratory HVAC system is demonstrated using preliminary results obtained from practical testing. The concept is built on an open-source and cost-effective control platform, and is applicable not only for smart buildings but also various industrial applications.
