Abstract

This article examines the implementation of intelligent power storage systems and their operation in the environment of the Russian Federation electricity market. The authors consider the operational principles and technical peculiarities of operation of intelligent electrical energy storage systems, their classification, and peculiarities of external grid energy supply by electrical energy storage systems (EESS). The classification of EESS into intelligent and non-intelligent is provided. The main problems of introducing intelligent energy storage systems are highlighted. The study is based on the methods of statistical, historical, comparative, logical, economic-mathematical, and systemic analysis, which made it possible to propose the introduction of intelligent energy storage systems as a possible way to improve the quality and reliability of the electric power system. Reasons for the use of EESS in modern power industry are described. The main phases of management for projects with EESS in the Russian Federation are outlined.
