Abstract

Abstract A novel push button is developed using shape-memory gels (SMGs). The Young’s modulus of SMGs changes dramatically with temperature. This modulus change is utilized to control the input-acceptable and input-not-acceptable states of the button. We believe the mechanism of this button could be used to develop new devices, especially for the visually impaired.
