Abstract

AbstractPurpose: The purpose of this research is to determine the ecological manifestations of the modern digital economy’s development and to prepare a scientific algorithm of using intellectual machines as the hi-tech ecological innovations, which are created with the help of evolutionary computation and genetic algorithms.Design/methodology/approach: Regression analysis is used for evaluating the consequences of digitalization for biodiversity in the aspect of preservation of land and sea eco-systems as a purely ecological manifestation, on the one hand, and agriculture and food security as an eco-economic manifestation, on the other hand.Findings: The statistics of digital competitiveness and abundance of flora and fauna in countries with the highest level of digitalization in 2020 are analyzed. The algorithm of using intellectual machines as the hi-tech ecological innovations, which are created with the help of evolutionary computation and genetic algorithms, is created.Originality/value: It is substantiated that digitalization entails high costs for environment. In order to use intellectual machines for creation of hi-tech ecological innovations, it is expedient to use evolutionary computation and genetic algorithms. This allows achieving one-time balancing and complex accounting of the requirements of all interested parties (multi-criterial optimization), as well as machine learning for autonomous development and future effective decisions by intellectual machines.KeywordsIntellectual machinesDigital economyTechnological progressFourth industrial revolutionHi-tech ecological innovationsEvolutionary computationGenetic algorithmsJEL CodeD91E01F42F43F64Q01Q15O31O32O33O38Q56Q57O13O41O43O44O47
