Abstract
This chapter provides an overview of the evolution of integrative nursing in Israel, including its challenges and vision about its future. It includes an historical background on nursing and healthcare in Israel, leading to the formation of integrative nursing that emerged in 2012. The major challenges of this domain today are the formal recognition of this discipline and its assimilation into the formal educational program of nurses. In addition, this chapter provides a vision for how integrative nursing will enable a wide range of treatment options, expand the opportunities to cure, and improve quality of life of both patients and caregivers.
