This definition applies to all types of social units – a small group like a family; a gang or an Internet newsgroup; an organization like a firm, an administration or a nongovernmental humanitarian organization; a community like a neighborhood, a local church community, a local business community, or a local ethnic community; or a society like a local society, a national society, a supranational society, for example, European society or even world society.
