Abstract

Accelerated development and evolution of market trends in the global economy, accompanied by volatility and high uncertainty, is gaining momentum. Under these conditions, it is particularly important to ensure the use of modern digital technologies, which will allow predicting risks and effectively manage socioeconomic processes in countries. Simultaneously, the digital transformation of the economy is impossible without human resources capable of creating and using digital services, software products, and databases, which is an indisputable trend of the progressive development of society. Under these conditions, there is a need to combine interstate efforts to create a modern system of higher education in training highly qualified personnel for the digital economy. The paper considers current formats of training economists with professional digital competencies, capable of making business decisions based on predictive analytics, and using digital technologies and software products in their professional activities. The authors of this research provide a real example of the association of two higher educational institutions from Russia and Uzbekistan to train personnel for the digital economy, using the format of dual degrees and jointly implementing a master’s program “Financial Technology in the Digital Economy.” The innovations of the educational process include its organization based on two universities, the use of distance learning, and the involvement of disciplines for mastering professional digital competencies in the curriculum. After completing two years of study, the students from the Republic of Uzbekistan will receive two diplomas (Russian and Uzbek).KeywordsRepublic of UzbekistanHigher educationDigital economyPersonnelDistance learningDouble degree formatDigital competenciesDigital technologyJEL CodesI25I23J24
