Abstract

The present study deals with processing and interpreting the potential magnetic data in order to locate promising sites for metallic mineral occurrences in the basement rock of Beni Snassen. Spectral analysis of the magnetic anomalies over the area was used in an effort to estimate the depth to magnetic sources and model prominent magnetic anomaly. The average magnetic source depth of 1347 m has been obtained for the area and this is thought to be related to the depth to the top of the granite in the study area. The qualitative interpretation results of both the analysis of the magnetic field are and previous geophysical and structural studies reveal potential fractures zones trending East-West (E-W) and minor ones North East-South West (NE-SW) directions. This faults which serve as migratory pathway for hydrothermal fluid, then the possibility of MVT mineralization-deposit in the study area is feasible.
