Abstract

Abstract The objective of this study was to evaluate the impact of integrating insomnia management strategies into CBT for GAD on insomnia and anxiety. Forty-nine participants with GAD (84% females; mean age = 32.0) were randomized to 12-weeks of CBT for GAD that included or excluded insomnia management strategies. Participants completed the Anxiety Disorders Interview Schedule for DSM-IV (ADIS-IV) before and after treatment, as well as the Insomnia Severity Index (ISI) and the Worry and Anxiety Questionnaire (WAQ) before and after treatment and at 3- and 6-month follow-ups.
