Abstract

Nowadays, innovations are very often regarded as a guarantee of success. Numerous business companies are concerned with innovation management. They deal with the question “What makes an innovation successful?” For the transformation of an idea into a successful product, it is important to consider several aspects. One of them is the integration of critical success factors in the new product development (NPD) process. The method for integration of critical success factors in the front end of the new product development process focuses on three core questions. The first question deals with the set of relevant success factors. The second question considers the interaction of these success factors and the third one focus on the impact of the network of success factors on changes as well as its reaction to these changes. The method aims at establishing a controlling system for the front end of the NPD process.
