Abstract

In this article we consider the integration of the Augmented Reality (AR) technology and Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) to the educational process through the laboratory complex, designed for laboratory practical classes, which attend students from engineering specialties. The purpose of this integration is to acquire skills in debugging such type of systems and analyze the relevance of these technologies in the industry and electric power industry, particular attention should be given to the control of electric drive systems. The relevance and timeliness of the application of these technologies in relation to the educational process and industry are explained. The need for the modernization of existing systems of industrial automation is described. There is also a review of existing AR and IIoT technologies. The main part of the article is devoted to the description of the laboratory complex modernization. The description of the software ThingWorx is given, which allows implementing both components, the AR technology and IIoT. Next part of the article provides a description of the hardware. Further, we explained the experiment, which included a remote start of the electric drive and control of its operating temperature by the sensor. Also, the section of augmented reality is provided, with a model of frequency converter and the model of asynchronous electric drive. In conclusion, the results of the work are summarized: a description of the advantages and disadvantages of the software platform of augmented reality ThingWorx, as well as the result of the modernization.
