Abstract

AbstractThe paper presented contributes to the organizational integration of Flexible Manufacturing Systems (FHS) into production control of small to medium size companies with small series production.With respect to the steadily increasing installation rates of FHS in such companies a new approach to production control has been developed. It considers both the characteristic features of the above companies as well as the typical systems installed. The approach is based on a distinction between made-to-stock and due-date jobs which occur in almost every small series production.
