Abstract
Objectives: Integrated treatment between psychotherapy and drug therapy in a pediatric OCD case. Methodology: Reprocessing through EMDR of past traumatic events. Restructuring of the main distortions of thought and process of exposure and prevention of response by means of cognitive and behavioral therapies. Pharmacological support with gradual dosage reduction until discontinuation. Results : Patient was able to reduce and then extinguish anxiety related to obsessive thoughts. To date (30 months after diagnosis) he no longer feels the need to implement compulsive rituals, effectively manages the sporadic residual obsessive thoughts and has recovered a satisfactory level of functioning. Conclusions: Efficacy of the integration between EMDR, TCC and pharmacological support.
