Abstract

The purpose of this chapter is to analyze the transformation of ecological learning through ICT in the pandemic of COVID-19 in Pakistan. In this current epidemic situation, COVID-19 converts traditional classes into digitization through ICT integration as several people identify ICT as a catalyst for transformation, changes in at work conditions, access to information supervision and interchange, instruction approaches, knowledge procedures, scientific research, and access to information technology. One of the major challenges faced by the schooling system is the deficiency of able instructors who are well educated or capable in the usage of information technology. However, the efficiency, complication, and strength of ICT turn this modification into a hindrance during COVID-19. Whereas, the methodology which was used during literature review is systematic review because it is a kind of literature review that uses orderly methods to gather secondary data, analytically evaluate research studies from reputed research databases and repositories such as, Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science. The findings indicate that transformation of learning environment through ICTs during COVID-19 in Pakistan has negative impact on student’s learning. Students as well as teachers are facing so many challenges like damage of community contact, unfortunate Internet association, and sound, shortage of self-governing education assistances among children and young children, and lack of preparation by teachers and school administration. Serious problems, such as teachers’ unpreparedness and absenteeism, as well as the lack of necessary funds and resources, were a significant barrier. This study offers a great understanding about transformational shift of traditional classes toward ICTs. It will be helpful for the educators because it defines the gaps of using ICTs during COVID-19 situation. Additionally, it will suggest teachers to be flexible during this current pandemic situation. It will be helpful for policy makers because they will be familiar about the challenges which students are facing. This literature review is significant and unique in terms of its contextual focus on Pakistan and also addresses online teaching and learning in the pandemic of COVID-19 and its technological impact on learning environment in local and international context.
