Abstract

Geodynamically, Melandong Field in Indonesia's northwest Java Basin (Figure 1) resides in an active margin area controlled by the subduction of the Eurasia plate in the north and beneath the India-Australia plate in the south. During the Tertiary period, the basin underwent two tectonic deformation phases—a tensional stress regime during the Paleogene and a compressional stress regime during the Neogene.
