Abstract

Operating an interconnected power system presents many challenges in terms of the quality of power supply, economy and security. This paper proposes a method that integrates both transient stability and steady state security constraints in a conventional optimal power flow. The proposed method is illustrated using optimal power flow studies on a 10 machine, 39 bus power system model.
