Abstract

Abstract In this research work, turning of AA6063 was performed at cryogenic temperature by varying spindle speed, feed rate of tool and depth of cut at CNC Turing center. The L16 orthogonal array was utilized to examine the process parameters, and the optimal levels of the process parameters were identified through grey relational analysis. The Material Removal Rate (MRR) and Surface roughness (Ra) was recorded as response and it was compared with machining characteristics at room temperature. The results revealed that machining alloy at cryogenic temperature exhibited better Ra and minor increase in MRR.The GREAT technique showed that Depth of cut was most significant parameter which affects the MRR and Ra.
