Abstract

In order to evaluate river's present situation and strengthen the protection and construction of the ecological environment,the evaluation index system(EIS) and evaluation grading criterions(EGC) of river were created using the weights of evaluation indexes with the fuzzy analytical hierarchy process(FAHP),and the model of variable fuzzy set(VFS) and the FAHP were integrated as the evaluation model.The FAHP-VFS model was applied to the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal(Hangzhou Section).The results showed that: i)the river grade of Anlv and Jingmei were classified into Class II health in the first-grade indexes of Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal;ii) the river grade of Shuiqing was classified into Class Ⅲsub health;iii) the river grade of Liuchang was classified into Class Ⅳbad health.The overall evaluation of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal(Hangzhou Section) was recognized as sub-health grade and the characteristic parameter was 2.849.The results turned out to be reliable due to the well-developed modeling process and carefully-defined physical conception.This evaluation process also provides an optional approach to evaluation of other complicated systems.
