Abstract

This paper proposed an integrated framework for the generation, transmission and Energy Efficiency (EE) planning (GTEP) problem. Through this framework, the EE programs are introduced as virtual power plants that could be optimally allocated besides the optimum planning of generation and transmission networks. Minimizing the cost of generation and transmission planning (GTP) and the required cost to enable the EE programs, to satisfy the forecasted load is the main goal of the paper. The constraints relevant to the availability of the fuel, as well as transportation constraints, are modelled beside the system constraints (including generation, power balance, lines' current limits and EE constraints). The simulation results prove the importance of the proposed problem, as well as its economic advantages.
