Abstract

A novel integrated generation and transmission expansion planning using Generalized Bender's Decomposition (GBD) method is proposed to deal with both generation and transmission expansion problem. Most of existing researches on the expansion planning has applied the GBD method based on the DC power flow model to guarantee the convergence and improve the computation time. But the GBD method based on DC power flow model may result in inaccurate solutions for the practical systems because the method cannot consider bus voltages and constraints related to reactive power limits. In this paper, integrated generation and transmission expansion planning using GBD method based on linearized AC power flow model is proposed. The proposed method has been successfully applied to Garver's six-bus system which is one of the most frequently used sample systems.
