Abstract

A novel optical demultiplexer with auxiliary monitoring channel using multilayer dispersive material structure is proposed. A spatial shift among the different input wavelengths occurred due to the wavelength dependent of the dispersive material. The effect of the different design parameters such as number of layers, incidence angle of the optical beam, dispersive material of base layer, thickness, refractive index profile on the spatial shift between adjacent channels and size of the device are investigated.
