Abstract

Increasingly more complex technical products have to be developed in shortening design cycles in industry. This task can only be solved if both the methodical basis and suitable design tools are created. Based on the design of an integrated multi-coordinate drive the opportunities for the design and configuration of heterogeneous systems are described whose functional features arise from the consistent application of the functional integration design principle in the mechanical domain and the functional separation design principle the automatic control domain. The integration of the components (actuator, sensor, control system) into an optimal configured system is crucial for its achievable technical parameters. During this process the prospects of decoupling by means of automatic control should be kept in mind.
