Abstract

There is described the approach to the development of a new training course in computer aided design “Computer-aided design of the tool systems” (CADTS). This approach allows implementing end-to-end approach to tool systems designing, which are studied by students of BMSTU “Tool engineering and technologies” Department throughout the all study period. There is a selection of computer environments that implement training to computer modeling based on accepted criteria, - CATIA, EdgeCAM, ANSYS. When performing a CADTS task, it is necessary to develop the design of a given object, an object model, models of loading and boundary conditions for engineering calculation, the technological process of manufacturing a body part in a CAM environment using 3D and surface modeling. This involves continuous monitoring of the quality of the projected object control is running on the strength, stiffness, manufacturability, assemblability, machinability. There is carried out an design optimization of the object and its manufacturing technology. Implementation of integrated CADTS course helps to develop skills in designing cutting tools, fixtures, engineering components and assemblies, as well as deepening the knowledge about the design objects, ensuring development of professional competencies of specialists in the field of “Design of machining and tool complexes in mechanical engineering”.There is described the approach to the development of a new training course in computer aided design “Computer-aided design of the tool systems” (CADTS).
