Abstract

Switched-capacitor techniques offer, in the right environment, the possibility to integrate entire processing sub-systems with practically no requirement for external components. An example of one such environment is the audio processing and condition identification environment in the German TV stereo sound system. Presented here is an I.C. which performs a complete sound processing and transmission status identification on one-chip. Stereoton* is produced in 5 micron silicon-gate CMOS. It operates at 12 volts D.C. and consumes 35 mA. M.P.U. control is through a 2-line bus.
