Integrated balancing approach for hosting services with optimal efficiency - Self Hosting with Docker

Abstract

With the emergence of giant corporations that provide cloud services and gaining a monopoly over the market, the increasing need for low cost and secure services for hobbyists of industry level projects can be satisfied by using self-hosting the cloud services rather than cloud-hosted services. As cloud service architecture is less flexible and less secure in terms of performance due to its underlying approach in its infrastructure, a self-hosted service looks more adequate for this manner. This paper implements the use of hosting services with an addition of Docker and Nginx platform, a way to prevent the mentioned instances with additional capabilities giving the user more freedom and flexibility. Docker in Portainer is used to contain more containers in a single Raspberry Pi, without which each container requires separate devices.
