Abstract

Clubroot is a severe cosmopolitan disease of cole crops. This disease is caused by Plasmodiophora brassicae which is a soil-borne pathogen. This disease is emerging as one of the biggest threats to cole crops. This pathogen was first detected in Europe. Several experiments have been conducted to understand the nature of the pathogen but the complexity of the pathogen is not properly understood yet. Due to this reason, the management of clubroot has been quite a challenge to the researchers. Given the lack of knowledge about the pathogen, farmers, and plant pathologists around the globe are struggling to control the disease. Integrated approaches are being introduced for better management of the disease. The integrated approach includes various physical, chemical, cultural, and biological methods that are combined to overcome the problem.
