Abstract
During the Middle Cretaceous, extensive carbonate platforms covered the eastern part of the Arabian plate, including, the eastern Persian Gulf. Many of the major hydrocarbon accumulations are found in the Middle Cretaceous reservoir rocks which developed as the carbonate platforms evolved.
