Abstract

Pilgrimage is a characteristic and tradition of the Indonesian people that symbolizes the approaching month of Ramadan. Palembang is one of the cities that still makes pilgrimage as an annual activity to welcome the month of Ramadan. Palembang City is the area with the most tombs of aulia solihin and waliyullah so that the successors of their lineage form a tradition called kubro pilgrimage. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method to describe the history and series of haul implementation and kubro pilgrimage which has become a tradition in Palembang city, using a literature approach and direct observation in the field where activities occur directly, and also sourced from journals, books, related articles. The researcher became a human instrument which was directly involved when the research was conducted. The results and discussion of this research show that the preservation of Palembang culture has a positive impact. The purpose of this research is to find out how the presence of kubro pilgrimage carried out by the Arab community in Palembang city and to find out how the integration of religion, society and culture in the tradition of kubro pilgrimage in the Palembang city community.
