Abstract

AbstractThe Dirichlet's boundary value problem with the ellipsoid boundary is dealt with in the paper. Under the accuracy of O(ε4T), the integral solution of the problem is obtained, where ε2 and T are the second eccentricity of the ellipsoid and the disturbing potential, respectively. The result is better than that of the spherical approximation. It provides a new approach to solve the boundary value problems in physical geodesy.
